Bom dia Victor,

Obrigado!

@Tomax  thank you!

The topic appears to have been established quite some time ago. Although NOS support claims to provide NB-IoT support, this seems not to be the case in reality.

All attempts to connect NB-IoT devices have been unsuccessful, as indicated by the registration denied message: "+CEREG: RegistrationDenied, LAC 47830, cell 673393, NB1."

Regarding LTE-M networks, has anyone determined whether they are supported? If so, could someone please share this information?

It's disappointing that obtaining a clear answer from NOS support has proven difficult.

Hello, @andrew.rozhkov

Thank you for your message. Welcome to NOS Forum. In which equipment's are you trying to use the IOT SIM card?

Kind regards

Hello @João H.

I am utilizing a development kit by keyalike, which is based on the Quectel BC660-GL. Could you offer any guidance or advice on this?

Thank you!

@andrew.rozhkov hi!

What kind of equipment is this?  I didn't perceive.  What do you do specifically?

@DalleyBorges Hello,

This is an access control module that enables door opening, for instance, at home, using a mobile phone. It employs NB-IoT technology to synchronize keys between the access control device and the cloud.

Hello @andrew.rozhkov,

Thank you for your feedback.

The NOS NB-IoT service is destined to be used in alarms, locators or smartwatches.
From what we understand the device you’re using is oriented towards software development, right?

Thank you

Hello @João H.

NB-IoT is a transport protocol, one among the many existing LPWAN protocols. Imagine providing a service akin to WiFi, which is also a transport protocol enabling device connectivity to the internet, much like what NB-IoT does. However, it restricts usage to only tablets, prohibiting mobile phones from accessing the same services, such as sending emails or watching videos. Doesn't that seem odd?

Similarly, consider Ethernet, which only allows connection for a specific group of devices like alarms or locators, but not for regular PCs.

It appears that NOS has promised certain functionalities but is unable to deliver them to clients.

yup, its locked for most stuff, every thing explained here and in the nos website » https://www.nos.pt/movel/iot#mais

as u can see they sell it for those 3 purposes the moderator was telling about

I guess maybe for what ur looking for, the best option would be a regular mobile data simcard, no?

um bem haja

Yes, it's a common scenario with advertisements; always pay attention to the fine print :)

Indeed, NB-IoT offers several benefits that I'm keen to utilize. Typically, the cost for one SIM card per month is about 1 euro, and it provides reliable connectivity to the network, even in basements.

P.S. The specific SIM card used doesn't matter as much as the equipment it's used in :)
