Hello @Martin Gall, welcome to the NOS Forum. 😊

We’re here to help. Please tell us the name of the plan you currently have active on your number and also whether you are connected to the available operators in the United States: AT&T or T-Mobile.

Additionally, let us know if the “Mobile data roaming” option is enabled on your device.

Thank you

No number? So the phone is not assuming the card maybe. Is it a phisical one? Try removing and putting it back on

Hello @Martin Gall,

We appreciate your feedback and the help provided by @Guimas.

Does the same happen when you insert the SIM card into another device?

Thank you

Hi, I have tried it in another phone, which my wife uses for her Portuguese number, and it's the same thing the sim number isn't recognised and nothing happens.

I put my wife’s sim into my phone and her sim worked fine in my phone.

Is it possible my Sim is locked only when not in Portugal ?

Hello @Martin Gall,

Thank you for your feedback.

It seems there might be a defect with the SIM Card. We recommend you getting a new one in a NOS Store.

You can also ativate a eSIM directly through my NOS:

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you

Hi, I am in the USA at the moment, so I can’t go to a NOS store.

It says that I have to order the e Sim through the App on the device that you want the e Sim to be used.

When I am in the app i don’t see the magnifying glass.

Getting very frustrated with this.

I am unable to get an e Sim through the app.

It says it is not possible to get an e Sim

Please I am so frustrated as I have no way to contact anyone in Portugal.

I need to speak to my bank before Saturday, and I have no resolution on this problem.

Please don’t leave me isolated

Hello @Martin Gall,

Thank you for your feedback.

Did you confirm nothing happens when you insert a card in any cellphone? Is the card not detected?

If the phone does not support eSIM, it will be necessary to ask for a physical card in a NOS Store.

Thank you

Nothing happens when in another phone.

As stated that's impossible to go to a NOS store as I am in USA.

Doesn't help, paying this monthly money and no service

How to I speak to my bank in Portugal?

If I have to buy a Sim here will NOS cover the costs?

Hello @Martin Gall,

We are really sorry about this situation. We understand how important it is to have your SIM card working, however, based on what you’ve indicated, the SIM card does not work in other devices and your device is not compatible with eSIM. Therefore, to resolve the situation as quickly as possible, it will be necessary to request a replacement SIM at a NOS Store.

If you have more questions, let us know. We’re always here to help.

Thank you for your understanding

Hi,

I will not be back in Portugal for at least a month.

I really cant be without my phone for that length of time.

Is there really nothing that can be done, I am not getting any texts or calls

Is my account set up for international roaming?

Regards

Martin

Hello @Martin Gall,

Thank you you for your message.

In the case where, after inserting the SIM card in different devices,  the card is not recognized (for exemple, does not ask for a PIN Code) means this is a physical issue and not from back-end or configurations.

You should be able to also check the SIM status in the smartphone settings:

  • Settings > About Phone > SIM Status (or "Status") on Android, or
  • Settings > General > About on iPhone to view details like the phone number and network status.

If this is the case, only a new card will solve the issue. The card can only be sent to the contracts address, or requested by the owner in a NOS Store.

Thank you

Hi, I cannot go a month without the phone, and you state I can only get a physical Sim sent to my portugal address and cannot get an eSim. So I buy a Sim here in the US and pay for international calls. Then I still pay NOS for a service that cant be fixed and I don't get reimbursed for the cost of the  other Sim.

Where is the best service I was told I would get from NOS when I signed up.

I'm sorry for being so direct but I'm a little annoyed.

Regards

Martin

Well, i wouldnt expect any service prover in the world to send u a international package with a sim card…

There is a solution for this situation, which is the esim, its you that doesnt have a compatible phone…

you can always ask someone in portugal that has the key to ur house to receive the sim card and then send it to you oversees.

Bem haja

You really think a sim is of such great value that to post anywhere recorded is too high a risk?

Great solution replace the phone I bought in a NOS store with one from the USA, fact the phone I have from NOS, in the US it can use an eSim but only from a US provider and it would cost $700 for the phone.

Wait the month and buy another eSim compatible phone from NOS, but I could just get a physical Sim, doesn't solve the issue now.

Who would you suggest would have a key, because I haven't given anyone a key just in case my Sim stops working when im in the USA.

Thank you for.your help

Regards

Martin

Hello @Martin Gall.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
At the moment, the SIM can only be replaced at a NOS Store or sent via CTT to your address in Portugal.

We appreciate your understanding, and we’re here to help if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
