How to buy public IP?

Hi Joao,

To be honest, your answer confused me a lot. I bought internet service from you and see no other company in the agreement, that is responsible for the internet. Wherever I lived, it was always under control of a network provider to issue a public IP. Moreover, from your answer I can’t understand what I can do further to get a fixed IP. This forum mentions that it is possible to buy, but no advice on “how to”.

The restriction is a bit arbitrary. Physical persons also need a fixed IP for example to reach their smart house devices outside when in a travel. Please reconsider.

Its company policy, no can do

policies change if there is a reason. As a physical person, I had public IPs in other countries. There is nothing logically that restricts people from buying such a service. Maybe I have to change the provider.

Even if you change, have a public fixed ip is a company service, u dont need one to do what you intend to.

Even in other providers in portugal its a company exclusive service, for exemple:

If they sold that service to every individual, soon there would be no ip’s left. Cus idk if you understand how this work but every company buys specific ranges of ips to use, and they’re limited…. so every provider uses CGNAT em dynamic public ip’s.

Thanks for your reply but the link you gave says the opposite. MEO says private persons can buy (Como posso aderir ao IP Fixo? - A subscrição do IP Fixo pode ser realizada de várias formas: Área de cliente my MEO (Clientes Particulares)).

As for no IPs left I believe you should familiarize yourself with what IP6 is. But even for IP4, it isn’t a big deal because 99.9% of private customers don’t need it. 

I dont know where u saw that, but the link i sent you is specific for companies only (Empresas), even the link says “empresarial” which is “for companies”. Its not a service i see nowadays being provided for sigular individuals, 

I dont know if you’ll be able to find that in portugal, if you dont have a company NIF, i was searching in vodafone but wasnt able to find a concrete answer, so maybe that’s ut best chance since they’re multinational. 

Although for accessing your own network from outside i wouldn't worry with that. Even though you have a dynamic IP, most of the time it does not change, most of the people have the same public ip for more than 2 years and gotta force a change by reseting the router and other workarrounds.
